Who will drive Stewart-Haas Racing’s fourth car for the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season? Here are five possible drivers for the team.

Over the last several NASCAR Cup Series seasons, Stewart-Haas Racing have become synonymous with change. Not since between the 2015 and 2016 seasons have they maintained the same four-car driver lineup from one year to the next.

After the 2016 season, team co-owner Tony Stewart retired, and Clint Bowyer replaced him behind the wheel of the #14 Chevrolet-turned-Ford. After the 2017 season, Danica Patrick retired, and Aric Almirola replaced her behind the wheel of the #10 Ford.

Kurt Busch then left for Chip Ganassi Racing after the 2018 season, and he was replaced by Daniel Suarez behind the wheel of the #41 Ford. After he was the only Stewart-Haas Racing driver who failed to qualify for the playoffs in the 2019 season, Suarez was given the boot in favor of rookie Cole Custer.

Although the 2020 regular season has just ended, it is safe to say that more of the same could very well be in store for between the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

Custer is seen as a long-term option for the team behind the wheel of the #41 Ford, while Kevin Harvick has already signed a contract extension to continue driving the #4 Ford through at least the 2023 season.

While Almirola recently signed another one-year contract extension after signing one late last season, Bowyer is still a pending free agent after signing a similar deal late last year.

If Stewart-Haas Racing continue their recent trend and replace Bowyer, who might they add to their team? Here are five possible new Stewart-Haas Racing drivers for the 2021 season.
