IndyCar: Marcus Ericsson to return to Chip Ganassi Racing in 2021

Marcus Ericsson is set to return to Chip Ganassi Racing behind the wheel of the #8 Honda for the 2021 IndyCar season on a multi-year deal.

Following his second season of IndyCar competition and his first driving for Chip Ganassi Racing, Marcus Ericsson has signed a multi-year deal to continue driving the #8 Honda for Chip Ganassi’s team.

Ericsson finished in 17th place in the championship standings in his rookie season driving for Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports last year with a top finish of second at the Raceway on Belle Isle and two other top 10 finishes in 16 starts.

In 2020, Ericsson recorded nine top 10 finishes in 14 races with a best result of fourth place in the second of two races at Road America. He finished in 12th in the standings.

Here is what Ericsson had to say about the opportunity to continue competing for Chip Ganassi Racing next year.
