Both drivers who missed IndyCar’s most recent race at Road America are set to return for this Sunday afternoon’s Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Arrow McLaren SP’s Felix Rosenqvist and Ed Carpenter Racing’s Rinus VeeKay were both forced to sit out from the IndyCar race at Road America two Sundays ago due to injuries they suffered in separate accidents.

Rosenqvist was injured on the race track at Belle Isle Street Circuit in a nasty accident during the first race of the doubleheader three weekends ago, sidelining him from the second race of the weekend. Oliver Askew replaced him behind the wheel of the #7 Chevrolet.

After the doubleheader, VeeKay then broke his left clavicle, and he was sidelined from the race at Road America along with Rosenqvist.

Askew replaced VeeKay behind the wheel of the #21 Chevrolet while Arrow McLaren SP called upon former Formula 1 driver Kevin Magnussen to replace Rosenqvist for this race. But both of these full-time drivers are set to return to the series this weekend for Sunday afternoon’s Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Arrow McLaren SP confirmed on Tuesday that Rosenqvist had been cleared to compete in this 80-lap race around the 13-turn, 2.258-mile (3.634-kilometer) natural terrain road course in Lexington, Ohio, and Ed Carpenter Racing confirmed on Wednesday that VeeKay had been cleared as well.

VeeKay also shared the following.

Rosenqvist sits in 24th place in the championship standings with a top finish of 12th on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida in what has been a challenging first season with his new team. VeeKay, who earned his maiden win at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course in mid-May, sits in sixth.
