NASCAR Growth and Engagement Advisor Alvin Kamara is among four men indicted in a battery case stemming from an altercation which took place last February in Las Vegas.

NASCAR Growth and Engagement Advisor and New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara has officially been indicated by a grand jury for allegedly assaulting a man at a Las Vegas nightclub back in February 2022, leading to his arrest.

Three others, including Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Chris Lammons, have also been indicted. The indictments were made on charges of conspiracy to commit battery and battery resulting in substantial bodily harm.

Drew Findling, David Z. Chesnoff, and Richard A. Schonfeld, Kamara’s attorneys, released a statement making clear that he intends to contest the charges, claiming that he was acting in self-defense.

Video of the alleged incident involving the NASCAR Growth and Engagement Advisor was released a few months ago.

That clip can be found here.

As a result of the indictment, the case is set to move from Las Vegas Justice Court to district court on Thursday, March 2.

The hearing for the case was continued on multiple occasions throughout 2022, so the NFL did not punish Kamara. He appeared in 15 of the Saints’ 17 games, but a potential suspension is still on the table for the 2023 season, which is scheduled to begin in September.

Darnell Greene Jr., the man who alleges he was attacked, filed a civil lawsuit against the five-time Pro Bowl running back in October, alleging that the four men beat him and stomped on him while he was unconscious on the floor outside the nightclub.

More than a year after the incident went down, NASCAR has yet to comment. Kamara was appointed NASCAR’s first ever official Growth and Engagement Advisor (or “Chief Engagement Officer”, as he calls it) back in June 2021, just months after his Louisiana-based juice and smoothie chain, The Big Squeezy, sponsored a car in an Xfinity Series race.

Kamara is a longtime friend of 23XI Racing driver Bubba Wallace, which helped play a role in sparking his interest in the sport back in 2020.
