Iowa Speedway is scheduled to kick off a stretch of 14 NASCAR Cup Series races in 14 weeks to conclude the 2026 season with Sunday afternoon's Iowa Corn 350, the 23rd of 26 races on the regular season calendar.
The four-turn, 0.894-mile (1.439-kilometer) Newton, Iowa oval, which was added to the Cup Series schedule in 2024, is considered a short track, so Saturday's single-car qualiyfing session is set to feature two-lap qualifying runs, rather than single-car qualifying runs.
That being said, with top speed being the determining factor, rather than average speed, drivers have the ability to opt out of running a second lap. There is no second round shootout for the pole position like there is for superspeedway races.
The 36-car qualifying order was determined by the owner standings and the results of the Brickyard 400, the series' most recent race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway two weekends ago. The exact metric used has been in effect since 2025.
