The second and final practice session for the 14th race of the 2018 IndyCar season, the ABC Supply 500, at Pocono Raceway has been cancelled.

Rain has washed out what would have been the second and final practice session for the 14th race of the 17-race 2018 IndyCar season, the ABC Supply 500, at Pocono Raceway.

This practice session was scheduled to begin this afternoon at 4:45 p.m. ET, and it was scheduled to last until 5:45 p.m. ET. It was set to be broadcast live on IndyCar RaceControl, the IndyCar Mobile app, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Because of the fact that this practice session was cancelled, just one practice session will have taken place for the 200-lap race around the three-turn, 2.5-mile (4.023-kilometer) Pocono Raceway triangle in Long Pond, Pennsylvania by the time the race gets underway.

This lone practice session took place this morning. It was initially scheduled to last from 10:30 a.m. ET until 11:30 a.m. ET, but it ended up beginning at around 11:00 a.m. ET and lasting until around 12:00 p.m. ET as a result of a rain delay. Andretti Autosport’s Zach Veach topped the speed chart in this session in his #26 Honda.

Qualifying for the race began as initially scheduled at 1:30 p.m. ET. Team Penske’s Will Power took the pole position in his #12 Chevrolet alongside teammate Josef Newgarden on the front row in second place in his #1 Chevrolet.

With no more practice sessions for the ABC Supply 500 remaining on the weekend schedule, the next time the drivers take to the track is set to be for the race itself, which is scheduled to be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network tomorrow afternoon starting at 1:30 p.m. ET.

Seeing as how none of the drivers have had much track time ahead of the race and seeing as how tomorrow’s race is set to be the first IndyCar race at Pocono Raceway with the new UAK18 aero kit and there is a new tool for the front wings of the cars that will create significant aerodynamic changes compared to this year’s other 500-mile race, the Indianapolis 500, back in late May, it will be interesting to see how the drivers adapt to the track and how the 500-mile race plays out.
