IndyCar has released an updated schedule for the 2020 season that features multiple changes, including three cancellations, five postponements and one race moved up a week.

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, IndyCar, like every other sporting league in the world, was forced to take action, and that action involved changing the schedule almost on a daily basis.

In recent days, those changes have somewhat leveled off, but the series made its biggest move toward the end of this past week. That involved moving the Indianapolis 500, which has never been held outside of May in its 103 editions, back by nearly three months.

This change, which followed four of the season’s original 17 events being scrapped from the calendar, prompted the series to alter the schedule to make room for the traditional two-week Indy 500 period at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for practice, qualifying and the race itself.

Now the series has released an updated schedule. This updated schedule is not completely set and is obviously subject to change; one race is on there without having a date confirmed yet as it is.

This new schedule includes 14 races, including one of the four that was knocked off the calendar earlier in the year.

Of the other 13 races, the 13 that have been on the calendar since the schedule was released early last September, four were also postponed, with one of those four being the Indy 500. One race was also moved up by a week to clear space for Indy 500 practice and qualifying.

Here is the newly released 2020 IndyCar schedule.
