Dale Coyne Racing and Rick Ware Racing are set to announce their full-time driver for the 2021 IndyCar season on Wednesday morning.

Dale Coyne Racing confirmed last week that Ed Jones is set to return to the team for the 2021 IndyCar season through their partnership with Vasser-Sullivan behind the wheel of the #18 Honda.

They went on to confirm a new full-season partnership with Rick Ware Racing to field the #51 Honda on a full-time basis and the #52 Honda on a part-time basis which includes the Indy 500.

They are set to announce the full-time driver of the #51 Honda on Wednesday morning.

Former Haas Formula 1 driver Romain Grosjean is expected to be confirmed as this driver.

More from IndyCar

It was confirmed earlier today that Grosjean is slated to announce his 2021 plans tomorrow as well, indicating that the two announcements are really one in the same.

Whether or not Grosjean would be willing to run the four oval races on the 17-race 2021 IndyCar schedule has been a talking point ever since America’s premier open-wheel racing series was launched into the discussion regarding a potential ride for him for the upcoming season, but it does appear that he is slated to run the full schedule.

The 34-year-old Frenchman was released by Haas after spending the last five seasons with the team, the team’s first five seasons of competition in Formula 1. Despite being involved in a massive accident at Bahrain International Circuit which ultimately ended his Formula 1 career in late November, he has vowed to continue racing.
