Greg Biffle posted a picture of his days competing in NASCAR and stated that he is looking forward to 2020. Is he eyeing a return?

This past season, Greg Biffle returned to NASCAR for the first time since he competed in the 2016 Cup Series season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, and he did so by returning to the Truck Series for the first time since he competed in the 2004 season finale at the same venue.

After practicing for Kyle Busch Motorsports at Texas Motor Speedway in March, Biffle made his return in the SpeedyCash.com 400 at Texas Motor Speedway behind the wheel of the #51 Toyota for Kyle Busch Motorsports in June, and he made quite the splash by winning the race.

The 49-year-old Vancouver, Washington native qualified for this 167-lap race around the four-turn, 1.5-mile (2.414-kilometer) Texas Motor Speedway oval in Fort Worth, Texas in sixth place, and he won it by 0.963 seconds over ThorSport Racing’s Matt Crafton after leading 18 laps.

More from NASCAR

This race was the first of the three races in the Triple Truck Challenge, but because Biffle’s entry in it was initially intended to be a one-off and therefore he was not entered into the following race at Iowa Speedway by the deadline, he was ineligible for the Triple Truck Challenge bonus in the following race.

He did not end up competing in any more races throughout the season. But that doesn’t mean he’s done competing in NASCAR completely. On Thursday morning, Biffle took to Twitter to share a photo of his victory in the 2005 Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway, the season finale that year.

This victory was his ninth career victory, and it capped off a career year for him, as he finished the season with career-highs in wins (six), top five finishes (15), top 10 finishes (21), laps led (1,322), average finish (11.9) and championship standings position (second place).

He captioned this photo stating that he is looking forward to 2020.

Could this be a sign of yet another return?

As we saw this year with his race at Kyle Busch Motorsports, a return is not impossible for him, nor is him delivering at a high level if given a solid chance to do so.

A return to the Cup Series may be a bit far-fetched, unless he somehow ends up at the rumored Floyd Mayweather Jr. team, but don’t rule out seeing him in a few more Truck Series races or perhaps even a few Xfinity Series races next year.

It was fairly obvious from the time Biffle participated in one Truck Series practice session at Texas Motor Speedway, which was before he confirmed that he would compete in the June Truck Series race at the track, that he certainly would not return to NASCAR just to participate in one Truck Series practice session.

So would he really return to NASCAR after all these years just to compete in one Truck Series race? It seems highly unlikely.

Then again, maybe he is simply looking forward to the change of the decade.
